Jazz Improvisation Class

Jazz Improvisation Class

Jazz Improvisation Class

Rehearsals are on Tuesdays, 5.00-6.00pm, Music Room 2, at Walsall Arena and Arts Centre.

The ensemble is aimed at students who have passed their Grade 3.

The Jazz Improvisation Class features Trumpets, Trombones, Saxophones (Alto/Tenor) as well as Rhythm Section Instruments (Piano/Guitar/Bass Guitar/Drums).

Unlike our other Music Centre groups, the Jazz Improvisation Class is more of a theory based session and a class, rather than a traditional rehearsal.  In this class, students will learn about chords and scales, and how to improvise and play by ear.

The Jazz Improvisation Class tends to perform at one of our Music Centre Concerts throughout the year.  When ready, students involved with the Jazz Improvisation Class are invited to join in with the Jazz Combo, a small jazz group that performs at external events throughout the year.
