Rules & Regulations
Entrants must:
Be 18 or under
Live, or attend school/college in Walsall
Limit the piece to 3 minutes 30seconds
Backing tracks should not contain the entrants part
Any lyrics (for singers) should not be offensive
Ensure they are available in person for the final if they are successful, which will be held on Thursday 26th March 2026 at Walsall Arena and Arts Centre.
Any primary school aged student entering the Up and Coming category will be performing a piece no higher than grade 3 standard. If performing above grade 3 standard they should be entered in the Walsall Young Music Star category.
Entrants will also
Acknowledge that the student's names given in the application form might be made available publicly when our finalists and winners are announced (via our website, social media and other publicity)

PREVIOUS WINNERS
WYMS Category winners cannot re-enter for the following 2 years of the competition.
Up and Coming winners cannot re-enter the U & C category but can enter the WYMS category after 1 year of the competition.

Closing date for submissions is Thursday 12th March 2026
Heats commence w/b 2nd March, likely Wed 4th March from 4:30pm (Tues 3rd, if needed).
Students will receive copies of the comments sheet after the event has taken place
The judges decision is final
