How to Develop your Curriculum: Intention and Purpose
CPD Title: How to Develop your Curriculum – Intention and Purpose
Content: 3 hour session including practical tasks to enable teachers to create or refine their primary music education schemes. Delegates may have a bespoke scheme already and want to improve on it or they be using one off the shelf such as Charanga, Sing Up, Kapow, etc…
Ideal for: ECTs or staff new to the role of Music Co-ordinator. May also be useful for those seeking new ideas or approaches.

Singing—Getting Started: The Power of Starters and Warmups
CPD Title: Singing—Getting Started: The Power of Starters and Warmups
Content: 3-hour session including lots of song content for use in your own classrooms suitable for KS1, 2 and 3. Ideal for choir starters and singing assembly too. Basic voice technique and how to develop starter songs over time. Great for building confidence if you are new to leading singing, you’ll have lost of ideas to take back to school with you. Also good if you like collecting warm up songs and want ideas of how to develop them. This is a repeat course from previous years with the same content.
Ideal for: Anyone who sings, wants to sing or should be singing with their pupils. ECTs or staff new to the role of Music Co-ordinator or those who may be seeking new ideas or approaches. Anyone who wants to build their confidence to lead singing.

Content: 3 hour session including practical tasks to develop teachers confidence in teaching improvisation and composition in the classroom for KS1-3. Plenty of interactive ideas to take back into the classroom.
Ideal for: All staff teaching curriculum music in schools.

Content: 3 hour session including practical tasks to enable teachers to understand notation and it’s different forms as well as providing a variety of ways in which to deliver teaching notation in the classroom.

questions and exploring solutions to the challenges of areas such as provision, progression and professional development.

Musical Analysis
CPD Title: Musical Analysis
Content: 3 hour session covering a raft of musical terminology included in the Model Music Curriculum. All Interrelated Dimensions of Music are covered plus many more musical terms including how to use them in analysis and how to stretch your questioning in the classroom.
Ideal for: Anyone teaching the music curriculum who does not have A-Level music or a Music Degree, or teachers who may have this training but would welcome a refresher.

Singing—Advancing: How to Lead and Develop
CPD Title: Singing—Advancing: How to lead and develop
Content: 3-hour session building on the Singing-Getting Started: The Power of Starters and Warmups CPD Session. It is highly recommended you attend that session before this one (Nov 14th 2023).
This session includes new songs to take back into your classroom or choir and focuses on conducting, performance technique, harmonies, using notation and quality. Ideal for: Anyone leading singing in any setting for example the classroom, the choir or singing assembly.

Content: 3 hour session giving you all the information you need to write a comprehensive Music Development Plans as referred to in the National Plan for Music 2022. This session works well in tandem with the Leading Your Department training earlier in the year.
