Walsall Music Education Hub is pleased to announce our KS2 School Choirs’ Christmas Celebrations for 2022 – “Season’s Greetings”– will take place in the Walsall Arena and Arts Centre’s A3 Arena over a 3 day period – 29th, 30th November and 1st December.

Each day school choirs will take part in an intensive afternoon workshop/rehearsal and evening performance. This is also a CPD opportunity for staff observing high quality choral directing. On each evening a massed choir of approximately 200 young voices supported by the Music Hub Choirs will sing exciting seasonal songs. This year our theme will be an exploration of songs from around the world, including some songs in their original language, exploring the idea of Christmas being a time to come together, bringing the whole world with us to sing together.

Ula Weber will be directing all CPD sessions, workshops and performances. Ula is a highly experienced choral and children’s choirs’ conductor with a strong reputation of high quality training for staff, not just in vocal delivery but also in conducting. For more information visit Ula’s website.

In preparation for the event, The Music Education Hub will provide:

· ‘Meet the Music’ session(s) with Ula Weber held for school teachers at Walsall Arena and Arts Centre on 14th and 15th September 2022 at 4pm – 6pm. You only need to attend one of these. This will be a vital CPD session for all staff leading or accompanying children in schools.

· All the music and resources will be provided including backing tracks.

· The resources will be suitable for use in your own school’s Christmas performances.

· The performances will be accompanied by a professional live band.

To take part in this performance, the educational workshop, have access to the resources for use in schools and high quality choral leadership, schools will need to pay a non-refundable fee of £150.
